Public Service Award: Donald Loren

This award will be presented at the annual Lido Past Presidents Night Gala on Saturday, 10, November 2018 at the Bethesda Golf and Country Club. “We are delighted that on this, the 89th Anniversary of the founding of the Lido Civic Club, we are honoring an outstanding American of Italian descent who, as a public servant, has faithfully served our country for many years and risen to the top of the Federal Agency responsible for supporting our veterans”, said Tom Regnante, President of the Lido Civic Club.  Appointed by President Trump in August 2017, Mr. Loren oversees VA’s force protection and mission assurance efforts by leading the facilitation and integration of the Department’s emergency management response and recovery, personnel security and suitability, and security and law enforcement activities. These efforts aid to prevent and mitigate degradation of VA services to Veterans and employees, as well as to support federal response efforts for incidents and emergencies.
